SATURDAY CN TRAINING
I hope I'm not emailing you too much, I just want to make sure you're in the loop.
This email is regarding Saturday Counselor training, NOT Friday BC training...First, open the attachment and look through it. Now, I'll explain. The duties you have been assigned are for small break out groups with counselors. We'll be breaking off a lot and roll playing as much as possible. We think this will be most effective. If I put you on a duty, it might correlate with your BYU 2 duties. That should help us prepare a little more. Now you might notice there are lots of "-" with no names filled in. We'll pass that around and let you sign up for the ones you would prefer. I mean, we can sign up a head of time if you'd prefer... It's pretty intense preparation to help pass out lunch or clean up. I kid, I kid...So we'll divide that up when we're all together.
I'll be calling you sometime tonight or tomorrow after you've had an opportunity to look through the attachment.
Some quick reminders
--devotionals MUST be planned
--etraining MUST be done ( I know you love watching that EFY man...)
--you MUST be certified to drive a BYU vehicle
--you MUST not hate me after giving you all these assignments ;)
--I can't wait to see ya'll on Friday. It'll be wonderful. Thanks for being so positive and willing.
Also, I feel like I should know this...but what size shirts do ya'll want? Let me know. Thanks! Any questions?!

Friday Training
Hello! As you know, we will be having BC training/dinner from 4-10 on Friday! Ryan and I are so excited to get to know you better and to plan for summer. We've split up the duties (according to the first week duty roster). I know we posted this a while back, but we've jazzed it up a bit, so a few of your duties have been changed.
Jake and Erin--I've also given you some duties to train the team on. The HC's I've worked with the past few summers have really loved being in charge of the occasional duty (and they've saved us a ton by helping out). We want you to feel like you are part of the team. If you could plan to train us on the below assignments as well, that would be awesome.
Ryan and I will teach the infamous YM/YW activity at the training, even though it will be assigned to a few of ya'll during the first week. It'll go great. You'll love it. It was my favorite when we did it 5 summers ago:)
Ok--enough from me. Please prepare to train the team on the following BC Duties:
Joshua—FHE Treats, Pizza Deals, Service, Dance, Testimony Meeting Rooms
Erin (for Brittany)—Dancers, Scribe, Lunch Duty, Slideshow
Brooke—FHE Activity, Musical Program
Crystal—Site Office Duty, FSOY, Dance DJ, Variety Show Crowd Control
Isaac –Singers, Class Duty, Games Night, Banner Prep, Thank You Notes
Shaun—Check in, Variety Show, Dance Instruction/Competition
Amber—YW/YM Activity
Ryan—YW/YM Morningside, Material Distribution
Jake—Lunch Duty, Site Office Duty
We can't wait to see you!!! Plan on meeting at 4 in our future site office (which I'll let you know as soon as scheduling picks where that'll be ;)) on Friday at 4pm. We'll probably take a break to eat and finish up around 10. Let me know if anyone needs to check in the dorms early and I'll make the arrangements. If I don't hear from you, I'll know you have made arrangements at your apartments/friends/family.
Anyways, keep in touch :) I really, really am so grateful for all your preparation. We'll be in touch. See you Friday!
Oh--and really. Be in touch. 801.885.8444
Amber
(Also, just so you all know, Britt is a week 1 CN and won't be there. Please verify that you got this email and that you're good to teach us). Much love.Wednesday, May 19, 2010
Cough, Cough, *IMPORTANT*
Item #1
We have a mandatory team training Friday the 28th from 4-10 pm in the Harmon building. We will meet in the lobby and then go to a designated room. I'll post the room as soon as I hear back :) We'll be eating (on the JP card!) at 7, so come hungry.
Item #2
We all must attend the CN training from 8-4 pm on Saturday, May 29th. You also probably read that their will be a dance. You don't have to attend it--but you're more than welcome to so you can get your flirt on pre-summer. As BC's, you will be doing the majority of the break-out sessions. I'll find out exact assignments Thursday, but as for now make sure that you've done your devotionals and etraining so you're prepared. (but you already have...right?)
Item #3
Some one noticed that we are not giving shirts out until CNs have completed the etraining and attended a training session. That is true for us too. Email byugreenteam@gmail.com to tell me you have completed your etraining and planned your devotionals. We'll get you the shirts at the meeting Thursday.
Item #4
RIGHT NOW: Email me this. byugreenteam@gmail.com
"I _________ will be at training from 4-10, Friday the 28th, training Saturday the 29th, and have/have not completed my training."
ALSO--stay posted for your assignments of what to train us on at the BC mtg. Thursday. I know I gave these assignments but i've had to switch 3 when Sara and I did all our duty rosters for summer last night. Sorry. I'll let you know when i'm not around 250 students.... (don't worry--this is my planning period. Your tax dollars are not completely being wasted)
Just be in touch. The countdown is on. Sigh. Call me with questions--Ryan is in the Philippines. :) Lucky boy.
Can you tell I LOVE lists? That might drive you crazy this summer. FYI.
OK--right now. Email me 3 things. Pretend like this is a commitment...

Urgent!
I'm sure that one of the sole reasons you applied to be a BC is so that you can benefit from the vehicle we like to call the "cruiser." You must be certified to drive BYU cars/vans or you will be unable to drive the cruiser. Period.
Click on this link to sign up for a time to take the quick course:
Please comment after you have completed the training so we can see who can drive the cruiser. I've been on a team before that didn't have everyone certified to drive the cruiser by week 1 and it really put a burden on the team. Complete to course ASAP!!!
Also, make sure you are done with your etraining and devotionals. The 29th we will be training the counselors so this is important!
Love ya'll!!! Call Amber with Questions (Ryan is in the Philippines. Hard life...)
